Hannah Dilkes (b.1993) is a composer and trombonist currently living in London. Her works have been played by a range of soloists and ensembles including the Aurora Orchestra, the Britten Sinfonia, Lore Lixenberg and Oliver Coates.
In 2011 she won the BBC Young Composer of the Year award, which led to broadcasts on Radio 3 and a performance at the BBC Proms. More recently, Hannah has been involved in the Women of the World Festival at Kings Place and a re-imagining of Handel’s Messiah with Oxford Contemporary Music and Max Reinhardt.
As a trombonist she plays a variety of genres ranging from Jazz to Balkan brass and has played alongside the likes of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Serbian super-group KAL. You can often find her playing with Op Sa! Balkan Band and Mimika.
She is also an avid Aston Villa fan.
